As members of the Kidder Mathews Office group, our team is located in the firm’s Pasadena/Tri-Cities office covering Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, and the San Gabriel Valley markets. Formerly associated with the Charles Dunn Company, we proudly joined Kidder Mathews in late 2018, as we continue to serve the real estate needs of our clients since 1981.

Empathy and Trust

Bill Boyd and Linda Lee have worked as partners since 2000 when both worked at a national commercial real estate firm where they began their work together assisting both landlord and tenant clients. Their landlord assignments have included some of the largest office developments (such as the one million square foot project, The Alhambra), to office tenants ranging in size from 1,000 to 100,000 square feet.

Lee explains further: “Because our goal, for our tenant clients, is to minimize the client’s cost of occupancy it means, many times, that our commission compensation from the landlord will be less for doing a better job on behalf of our client. The empathy we have for our clients translates into their trust in us which we appreciate very much.”

The team’s landlord clients have all appreciated that “maximizing asset value” is the goal by which all leasing strategies and recommendations are held to and it’s why the team has leased more office buildings in the Tri-Cities office market than any other leasing team in the market. “Our landlord clients know that our advice and recommen­dations are always influenced by what we would do if it were our building,” Lee states, “and that’s always something our landlord clients have appreciated.” Boyd adds, “The office building leasing experience we have is the single best resource we provide our tenant clients when negotiating lease terms on their behalf.”

 

Recognition and Community Service

The Glendale Chamber of Commerce recognized Boyd as its “Man of the Year” in 2002 for not only having leased, on behalf of landlord clients, 10 of the city’s largest 14 office buildings over the previous 20 years, but also for his community service and “giving back” to the community. Lee also served as the Chamber’s Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2014-15.

“Several brokers in the Tri-Cities office market are from outside the community,” said Lee. “We believe it’s important to contribute and participate in the communities in which we work.” The City of Glendale retained the team in 2013 to exclusively represent the City, as the tenant, in its 20,000 square foot lease negotiations for the Verdugo Workforce Investment Board, one of the City’s divisions. Boyd’s additional community service includes serving at the Chairman of Pasadena’s Foothill Family Service agency.
