Bill Joseph, long-term senior vice president at Heger Industrial and its successor, Kidder Mathews, has led in the real estate profession for over forty years. While during the last thirty-five years, he has served as an industrial real estate specialist, his prior work in real estate development and large-scale property management continues to provide valuable insight and problem-solving solutions in his current activities.
Initially starting his career in the 1980s in East Los Angeles, leasing and selling over 450 properties in the Soto/Olympic area alone, Bill’s “territory” has evolved into a client-based network where some clients have provided repeat business for literally thirty years. Indeed, his product knowledge, work ethic, integrity and tenacity have served both him and his clients well.
The network and client requirements have taken Bill to cities well outside of East LA, however – to such locales as Downtown Los Angeles, Commerce, Vernon, Montebello, Santa Fe Springs, Industry, and Rancho Dominquez. Further, the work itself has not just involved leasing and sales of industrial properties per se, but multiple corporate warehouse relocations, completion of tax deferred 1031 exchanges, multiple workouts of environmental issues, and consulting. Additionally, the industrial uses themselves have included not simply warehousing, distribution, and online sales, but a wide variety of manufacturing types including garment manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, metal working, plating, food processing, plus non-traditional uses such as artist lofts, film studios, and cannabis cultivation.
Over the years, Bill has been a member of the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce, the Commerce Industrial Council/Chamber of Commerce, and the Vernon Chamber of Commerce. More recently he has served on the board directors of the Oak Knoll Homeowners Association, and currently retains his membership in the American Industrial Real Estate Association. He is also on the board, treasurer, and in charge of facilities, at Temple Beth David in Temple City.
Bill resides in Pasadena and has three children and nine grandchildren. Important leisure-time activities include bike riding, swimming, travel, and time with the family. He is also fluent in Spanish.
