Seattle’s Thai Siam is Closing After 38 Years — But May Reopen Soon

ON A RECENT Saturday night at 8 p.m., no fewer than 26 people are crowded into the snug waiting area of Ballard’s Thai Siam. The news is out that this neighborhood gem — in business for 38 years, it’s one of the oldest Thai restaurants in Seattle — will close at the end of April. Fans are showing up in droves to pay tribute and eat their favorite dishes for the last time. Of the turnout, owner Vhanthip “Nancy” Bhokayasupatt says, “It’s really touched my heart.”
