Kidder Mathews Welcomes Valuation Advisory Specialist Kyle Brown, MAI in Reno

Posted In — News & Press | Press Releases

Kidder Mathews is pleased to welcome valuation advisory specialist Kyle Brown, MAI as a senior vice president. He brings over 17 years of experience in commercial and agricultural appraisal. Based in Reno, Nevada, he also serves markets in the Northwest United States including Washington, Oregon, and Idaho — as well as Northern and Central California, concentrating on South San Jose and the Salinas Valley.

“Kyle’s many years of experience and extensive network across five states will be a tremendous asset for us. We are very happy to welcome him,” said Randy Clemson, Executive Vice President of Kidder Mathews’ Valuation Advisory Services.

Brown’s appraisal experience includes a variety of commercial properties (retail, office, industrial, multifamily) and agricultural properties (row crops, ranches, rural residential, greenhouses, vineyards, etc.). He has worked on numerous proposed developments and specialty properties including airports, schools, churches, senior living facilities, conservation easements, eminent domain assignments, and farm labor housing (H-2A) projects for seasonal workers. His clients include attorneys, public agencies, nonprofit entities, private property owners, estates, and financial institutions. He is also qualified as an expert witness in Monterey County.

“Kidder Mathews presented me with an enticing opportunity to broaden my practice area, leveraging their renowned name and branding as a distinguished CRE brokerage and appraisal firm,” said Brown. “As part of the next generation in a family business, I had to decide between managing a small firm in a limited market or joining a streamlined, multistate corporation like Kidder Mathews. The latter option would relieve me of non-appraisal administrative tasks, enabling me to focus solely on appraising while covering overhead costs, fostering ongoing education and philanthropy, and offering an attractive fee split. Ultimately, the choice was easy.”

Brown holds the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, demonstrating his nuanced understanding of commercial property valuation and his commitment to sound and ethical professional practice.

Kidder Mathews now has more professionals with the MAI designation than any other independent commercial real estate firm on the West Coast. The valuation advisory group consists of 43 appraisers — including 25 MAI designees and seven members with the esteemed CRE® designation. These “Counselors of Real Estate” are prominent practitioners recognized for their expertise, experience, and ethics in providing advice that influences real estate decisions.

Over the past six years, Kidder Mathews Valuation Advisory Services group has seen substantial growth, with an over 50% increase in assignments.

Before joining Kidder Mathews, Brown was a general appraiser at Stephen Brown Associates, Inc. in Salinas.
