Federative Republic of Brazil Signs 10.5-Year Office Lease in LA’s Miracle Mile

Posted In — News & Press | Press Releases

The Federative Republic of Brazil has signed a 10.5-year lease on 16,477 square feet of space at 6222 Wilshire Boulevard. The office will be occupied by Brazil’s Consulate General in Los Angeles. Kidder Mathews’ Brian M. Dunne, Don Hudson, and Stan Gerlach with CBRE represented Brazil in the $10,400,000 lease.

The space includes the entire top penthouse of the six-story Decron Properties building in the bustling Miracle Mile neighborhood. The 86,736-square-foot Class A building was constructed in 1986 and features striking red granite walls and floors in its downstairs lobby, with balconies on every level. The Consulate General of Germany is on the fifth floor, and the Consulate General of Chile is one block away on Wilshire Boulevard.

The property is in the heart of “Museum Row” — within two blocks of the LA County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and the Wilshire/Fairfax subway station. Dunne says the centralized location was important to ensure access for Greater LA’s Brazilian citizens, transplants, and employees.

Brazil’s lease is notable for both its term and size. According to Kidder Mathews Research, the 10.5-year term is over double LA County’s average office lease since 2022 (4.25 years), and over three times its average size (5,070 square feet).

“As the world’s fifth-largest country, Brazil’s consulate is a highly sought-after tenant. I have had the pleasure of working with this client since 1994, and I continue to be impressed with the professionalism, patience, and good nature of everyone I’ve encountered,” Dunne says.
