Veteran commercial real estate broker Caryl Brown has re-joined Kidder Mathews’ Portland office as a vice president.
Brown has been in the commercial real estate industry for over 18 years, and seven years with Kidder Mathews. She specializes in landlord and tenant representation for lease and sales transactions in Portland’s CBD, Pearl District, and Vancouver’s central city neighborhoods. Brown was previously with Commercial Integrity Northwest (CINW), a small retail-focused brokerage firm.
Brown has represented the Pearl District’s premier landlords and developers, negotiating lease and sale transactions for both retail and creative office space, including new-build high rise, mixed-use projects, and historic and adaptive reuse projects. High profile projects she has been involved in include reconfiguring and re-tenanting the multi-building Schofield Block in downtown Vancouver and the retail leasing assignments for Holland Partner Groups 2 mixed-use projects known as Block 10 and Coen & Columbia.
“I’ve long identified myself as a ‘hybrid broker’ working with retail and creative office clients in central city neighborhoods,” said Brown. “Kidder provides me with a broad platform from which to serve my clients. Kidder is a very large firm, but with its prevalent entrepreneurial spirit, value of relationships, and active collaboration, it feels like a small firm. Being able to connect with like-minded professionals across all competencies is a win for me,” she said.
Brown is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, Vancouver’s Downtown Association, and Commercial Association of Brokers (Oregon).
