Following a decade of award-winning growth as predecessor firm Ascentium, SMITH determined to undergo a major rebrand that would more accurately convey its creative/technological culture and corporate mission.

A vital piece of this repositioning was relocation of its headquarters to a space that clearly reflected the new direction and desired image of the firm. This move would ideally assure clients of SMITH’s prestige in the industry, as well as attract a talented and urban workforce, both of which presented as challenges at the original office in Bellevue, Washington.

SMITH ultimately enlisted Kidder Mathews to help the company realize its core objectives by leading the search for an office in some of the most desirable submarkets in Seattle.

After investing substantial time to understand SMITH’s business, its markets and financial challenges, Kidder Mathews was able to offer a number of potential locations that fell well within budget constraints and met image criteria flawlessly.

SMITH ultimately found its home in the tech-centric Pioneer Square neighborhood on terms that afforded it a structured expansion plan. Initial need required only one floor, however Kidder negotiated a lease that allowed two floors at the rate of one for the first two years. Consequently, SMITH now enjoys the creative, open space it previously lacked with considerable room to grow in the future.
