John Leyvas

John specializes in multifamily investments, affordable and senior housing, residential land development, condo conversions, and 1031 tax deferred exchange.

Prior to joining Kidder Mathews in 2025, John was with Cornish & Carey – NKF from 2010 to 2024. While there, he successfully closed several significant sales transactions, contributing to his career total exceeding $4 billion. In 1997, Mr. Leyvas and colleague Richard Knutson co-founded Premier Apartment Advisors. They were former partners at Moison Investment Company, where Mr. Leyvas had worked since 1992. Before joining Moison Investment Company, Mr. Leyvas was an investment broker with Grubb & Ellis Company and a founding board member of the Northern California Apartment Council. He also worked with FORCE Ltd., a syndication and development Company in Oakland, CA. In this role, he was responsible for office and apartment sales, identifying target apartment markets and development of land sales and syndications. This included the 1989 development of the AC Transit headquarters in Oakland with an estimated value of more than $10 million.
