John has successfully managed retail and office leasing, startup expansions, and strategic site selections across the U.S., with a focus on the Western states. Over the course of his career, John has completed more than 400 leases totaling over two million square feet and led the acquisitions team for a $4 billion investment portfolio. He is highly skilled in handling multiple complex development projects, with deep expertise in site evaluation, permitting, contract negotiation, and deal economics.
Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, John co-founded two outdoor sports brands, an M&A advisory firm, and a management consulting practice before returning to commercial real estate brokerage and development. He has also played key roles in building a real estate private equity fund, serving as a DST sponsor, and establishing a valuation advisory business. Over the past few decades, he has raised more than $60 million in investment equity, acquired over $400 million in portfolio assets, and negotiated purchases and leases for national retailers and startups across various sectors, including technology, agriculture, renewable energy, and auto-centric retail.
Outside of work, John enjoys skiing, hiking, cycling, and surfing with family and friends.
