Like many operations squished out by the pandemic, Lendy Hensley had to start over after her catering business shuttered in 2020.

With the commercial kitchen pleading to be used, Hensley and her partner started Bite Society, an online-only gift basket and cookie company. But as shops began to reopen in late 2021, Hensley found it harder than she had anticipated to remain virtual only.
