A Planet Fitness franchisee has signed a lease for a new club in the University District, the fourth Planet Fitness in Seattle. The club will move into the 17,124-square-foot former Petco space at 809 NE 45th St.
The 0.81-acre property just off Interstate 5 has 75 parking stalls and sits four blocks from the University District light rail station. It’s a rare large-format retail space in the neighborhood, which has seen significant redevelopment in recent years. Permit requests for tenant improvements have yet to be filed. Opening is expected sometime in 2026.
