Posted In — News & Press | Press Releases

As part of Kidder Mathews’ continuing strategic growth, the firm is pleased to welcome Edward Castro as General Counsel. In this role, he will serve as the chief legal advisor for the company—including brokerage, asset services, and valuation advisory divisions across the firm’s 19 locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona.

Castro is a seasoned corporate attorney with over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate law. He will advise and represent Kidder Mathews on a range of legal matters including research, analysis, regulations, corporate governance, licensing, litigation and compliance across multiple state jurisdictions. His expertise spans a broad range of commercial and real estate law, aligning with the comprehensive services offered by Kidder Mathews.

“One of the things that drew me to Kidder Mathews is its ability to scale while preserving the agile, entrepreneurial spirit that sets it apart,” said Castro. “It’s rare to find a firm of this size that still empowers professionals to move quickly and serve clients without the red tape that can slow down larger organizations.”

“I had the opportunity to work with Edward at a previous firm,” said Chief Operating Officer Eric Paulsen. “He is a very well-liked and respected attorney whose business acumen and expertise in CRE law are going to be a fantastic internal resource for our professionals.”

Before joining Kidder Mathews, Castro spent 24 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as Global Associate General Counsel for the firm’s brokerage, valuations, consulting, and capital markets divisions.

He holds a Juris Doctorate and Master’s in Economics from the University of Southern California, Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and an Executive Leadership Certificate from the Harvard Business School.
