Community Roots Opens New Building, with Neighbor to be Sold

Two Community Roots Housing buildings, a few steps apart on greater Capitol Hill, are poised for dramatic change.

First, the new 126-unit Heartwood received its temporary certificate of occupancy last week. That mostly mass-timber affordable housing project is at 1323 E. Union St.
