Kidder Mathews Expands Debt & Equity Finance Division, Adds LA Team Led by Brad Kraus

Posted In — News & Press | Press Releases

Kidder Mathews is pleased to welcome Brad Kraus and Jorge Gomez in Los Angeles, expanding the firm’s debt and equity finance division. Kraus joins as an executive vice president, with Gomez as an analyst. Prior to Kidder Mathews, the team was with James Capital Advisors (formerly known as Ascension) in Los Angeles.

“Kidder Mathews is on a path of historic growth, and the debt capability lends a lot of muscle to this effort. The addition of these two professionals in LA rounds out the firm’s offerings to our clients,” said Jim Kruse, Regional President of Brokerage for Greater Los Angeles. “Brad brings years of highly impressive results. He is known for his collaborative and hands-on work and facilitates many successful transactions. We are delighted to have Brad and Jorge join us.”

A veteran of the industry, Kraus has spent over 20 years working as a debt and equity capital advisor in commercial real estate. Most recently, he served as Director of Capital Markets for James Capital Advisors, earning the second and third-place top agent award consecutively over the past two years. With extensive experience structuring and closing deals across the capital stack on all asset types, Kraus attributes his team’s continued success to the close-knit ties fostered in the investment sales community.

“We comprehend and value the paramount importance of a fluid debt/sales relationship when closing any real estate transaction,” said Kraus. “We were drawn to Kidder Mathews’ deep bench of highly seasoned investment sales professionals and look forward to serving them exactly the same way we treat our private clients.”

Having executed over $5 billion in capitalizations nationwide, Kraus maintains long-trusted relationships at regional banks, credit unions, life companies, CMBS, FNMA/Freddie, debt funds, and private lenders.

Holding a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from New York University, he is a founding member of the Commercial Finance Broker Network (CFBN), a collective of 67 commercial real estate capital professionals representing 25 markets coast to coast. A contributing speaker at industry conferences, Kraus also writes an industry commentary that is distributed in his monthly Cap Alert email and posted on teamkraus.com.

Gomez is a seasoned commercial real estate placer and closer with over a decade of experience underwriting, sourcing, and negotiating financing with lenders nationwide. Having facilitated over 200 transactions throughout his career, Gomez’s in-depth knowledge of all asset types and adroit processing are critical components of the team’s success. Focused on selecting financing that aligns with client objectives, his lender knowledge base spans banks, credit unions, CMBS, life companies, debt funds, and private money.

Prior to transitioning into capital advisory in 2015, Gomez worked in commercial real estate originations and portfolio management with real estate crowdfunding lending firm Patch of Land. His career path out of UCLA began as an analyst and asset manager with Strategic Realty Capital, a real estate private equity firm.
