LA-based Developer Buys University District Lot for Student Housing

A Los Angeles-based real estate investor is joining the high-rise student housing development boom after closing on a one-third acre property in Seattle’s University District.

Champion Real Estate Co. purchased the site at 700 NE 45th St. on Thursday for $7.3 million, which works out to about $500 per square foot.
