Everyone knows and loves the landmarked Arctic Club Building, at 700 Third Ave., on the corner of Cherry Street. You walk by its terra cotta walrus cartouches and smile. Maybe you stopped for a drink in its marvelously ornate, restored Dome Room — aka the Polar Bar. Or maybe visited guests staying in the 120-room Arctic Club Hotel, operated by DoubleTree (a Hilton brand), which occupies most of the century-old, 10-story building.
