Veteran Los Angeles area broker William Boyd, who is not involved with parties in the reported Cushman-Newmark merger talks, noted that industry upheaval in past years has spurred brokers to switch firms or set out on their own brokerage-related business ventures.
“The consolidation of brokerages has also occurred in similar slowdowns,” said Boyd, executive vice president in the Pasadena, California office of brokerage Kidder Mathews.
