Flow International’s decision two years ago to move its manufacturing facility from where it started in the Puget Sound region to lower-cost Kansas stung Kent.
To help stanch the loss of other manufacturing jobs, the city is offering to sell or lease nearly six acres to a development company that would design and build a “flex/tech”-type campus between downtown and an existing manufacturing hub that’s home to Blue Origin’s new headquarters and research-and-development facility.
