Kidder Mathews’ Chairman and CEO, Jeff Lyon, has been honored as a Power 100 leader by the Puget Sound Business Journal in the publication’s inaugural Power 100 list.
The Power 100 leaders have helped define what the Puget Sound region has become. The list is made up of people who have built iconic companies on a global scale; they are innovators and visionaries in their industry. The Power 100 is not a ranking but a roster of those who have had a significant influence on the region at this moment in time.
Jeff has won similar top leadership accolades, such as Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, CEO of the Year by Seattle Business Magazine, and he recently received the Commercial Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
In 1991 Lyon merged his family-owned business, Lyon Commercial, with Kidder Mathews, and he was later promoted to Chairman and CEO. Under his vision and leadership, the company has grown from four offices and 150 people, to 22 offices in five states with over 800 real estate professionals and staff, making Kidder Mathews the largest independent commercial real estate firm on the West Coast.
As an active participant in the community, Lyon serves on the board of directors for the Economic Development Council for Tacoma-Pierce County, Kidder Mathews, Heritage Bank, the CCIM Education Foundation, and the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Commission. Lyon is also a board member for the University of Washington Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies, and he is a past board member for the University of Washington Tacoma Milgard School of Business. Lyon has served as the president of the Washington Association of Realtors and the Tacoma-Pierce County Association of Realtors, and he is a two-time past president of Washington’s CCIM Chapter.
Lyon has been named to the Power 100 list along with many impressive leaders, including Jeff Bezos, Bill and Melinda Gates, Erik Nordstrom, Howard Schultz, and Satya Nadella. One of the 100 individuals on the list will be honored as Executive of the Year by the Puget Sound Business Journal. Past receipts of the Executive of the Year award were Paul Allen and Amazon’s John Schoettler.
