Sources: Amazon closes in on Bellevue property deal as it backs out of New York

Amazon is closing in on a deal to buy property in Bellevue for the first time as the company cancels plans to open a 25,000-person office in New York, according to two commercial real estate sources.

The Business Journal previously reported Amazon was among potential buyers for the 10-story Bellevue Corporate Plaza property at 600 108th Ave. N. A source with indirect knowledge said Thursday that Amazon has put down non-refundable earnest money for the property.
