Los Angeles, Calif. (August 27, 2018) – Hapik, an indoor climbing park for all ages, has signed a 10-year lease for a 5,130 square foot space at El Paseo Shopping Center, located at 8712 Garfield Avenue in South Gate, California. Kidder Mathews commercial real estate brokers, Stephan Ktorza and Shelby Dopps, represented Hapik in the transaction. The landlord, El Paseo Center SPE, LLC, a commercial real estate owner, was represented by Peter Spragg at Newmark Knight Frank.
“This is a new and popular European concept making its debut into the U.S. entertainment world,” said Ktorza, a senior vice president with Kidder Mathews. “Landlords are becoming more and more receptive to repositioning retail real estate towards entertainment related activities instead of soft goods,” he said.
Hapik has the same ownership as Kids Empire, who leases the adjacent space.
“The El Paseo center is a great place for the first Hapik in the U.S. and the synergy with Kids Empire
next door will create a very attractive destination for leisure,” said Dopps, a senior associate with Kidder Mathews.
