SAN FRANCISCO, CA – China-based GCL Solar Energy has subleased 14,730 square feet at Steuart Tower in One Market Plaza in San Francisco. A leading supplier of polysilicon and solar wafers, GCL Solar has tripled in size since it opened is Northern American headquarters in 2010. It will relocate its headquarters to One Market from Embarcadero Center.
Kidder Mathews brokers, Skip Whitney, Tim Mason and Eric Bluestein, represented GCL Solar Energy in its transaction with The Capital Group, who was represented by CB Richard Ellis. The five-year deal was negotiated at a lease rate in the mid to high 40s.
“GCL Solar Energy took advantage of a slower market by securing a highly desirable space for a fantastic value, in a landmark building with stunning views and high-end improvements. The Capital Group and GCL Solar Energy were able to reach mutually beneficial terms,” said Bluestein.
