Brendan has 35 years of retail commercial brokerage experience specializing in lease negotiations and tenant site selection. Brendan has focused his brokerage efforts on initiating and negotiating retail lease transactions in market/drug shopping centers. This experience has allowed him to evaluate negotiations from both a landlord and tenant perspective, thus expediting lease transactions.
Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Brendan was the leasing agent for Business Properties Development Company from 1995 to 2017. The Business Properties shopping center portfolio consisted of sixteen grocery/drug anchored shopping centers comprising approximately 1,500,000 square feet of retail space in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Brendan worked closely with ownership in evaluating shopping center tenant mix, tenant retention and re-tenanting of retail space for renovation or new construction.
Brendan is experienced in project marketing, tenant prospecting, site selection, qualifying tenants, lease proposals and negotiations. He is experienced in landlord representation and major tenant representation and has worked closely with legal counsel, the brokerage community, contractors and government entities. While with Business Properties, Brendan completed over 330 leases. Additionally, Brendan represented Western Realty Investments from 2017 to 2021 as leasing agent to their shopping center holdings. He was also a retail commercial broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial (now CBRE) from 1984 to 1995.
